2nd Annual Easter Celebration

Easter Egg Hunt @ Family Promise

Easter Egg Hunt @ Family Promise

On Saturday, April 15th, Volunteer Julie Ramos and her church group from Experience Life gathered once again to host the 2nd Annual Easter Celebration for the families at Family Promise.

Adults as well as children enjoyed a cookout, Easter Egg Hunt, face painting and showing off their creativity as they colored and decorated Easter Eggs. The afternoon was full of excitement as the children worked on art projects and other fun arts and crafts activities.

A huge thanks to Julie for spearheading this annual celebration and to each participating member of E-Life.  They bring the promise of hope, love and joy to families which is so crucial to regaining and maintaining their confidence, self-esteem and human dignity.

Also, a huge thanks to Jenni Castillo, Fibi Hernandez, Michelle Lewark and Cassie DiFiori Daniels and the Guthrie 8th graders who will provide Easter Baskets, candies, plastic eggs, colorful easter eggs and lots of fun items.

You too can help!  To make a donation or to volunteer call our office at 744-5035.

Family Promise Week: October 18th - October 25th

Family Promise of Lubbock is proud to be part of a nationwide effort to help children and families who are homeless regain their sustainable independence.  The week of Sunday, October 18 through Sunday, October 25, has been designated Family Promise Week.

Family Promise Week will be celebrated nationwide and in the 192 communities where there is a Family Promise Affiliate.  Since 1988, Family Promise has helped more than 600,000 people—men, women and children—with housing, case management and other services.

Started as a local effort to address the crisis of family homelessness, Family Promise works on the principle that the elements to help children and their families—who make up 40% of all people who are homeless—are already in the community.  The program brings together houses of worship to provide temporary homes, facilities to provide space during the day for case management, and most importantly, thousands of volunteers who, by sharing a few hours of their time, enable families to turn their lives around.
