A Message From Our Executive Director

I once sat across the table from a wise and compassionate gentleman who had spent decades invested in Family Promise. He had served as a Church Coordinator for one of our partner organizations for more than 15 years, sat on our board multiple times, and devoted countless hours as an overnight host and meal provider at our Promise House. As we talked about his long history with our ministry, I asked what compelled him to keep serving through all the ups and downs. With tears in his eyes, he said:

IT WAS ALWAYS ABOUT THE FAMILIES.

Family Promise reveals the realities of a broken world and brings you face to face with a darkness you may never encounter otherwise. And yet, that very encounter is what compels you to pray more, serve more, and love more. And somewhere along the way, you fall in love with the families, their children, their courage, and their stories.

The 1,063 children in Lubbock ISD without a home. The 494 families who have reached out seeking shelter in 2025. They need you. They need me. Not to save them, but to remind them that hope is real, and that a life of stability, abundance, and joy is worth pursuing.

    54-bed capacity — families stay together with privacy and dignity throughout their stay.

  • Case Management Offices

    Confidential, trauma-informed one-on-one support to build a path toward independence.

  • Education & Multipurpose Rooms

    Program delivery, workshops, Monday Night Gathering, and community events.

  • Child-Friendly Spaces

    Play areas and quiet spaces for homework and counseling — so kids can just be kids.

  • Outdoor Green Space

    Safe outdoor areas for play and community engagement.

  • 8,657 Square Feet

    Main structure: 7,657 square feet + 1,000-square-foot Event Center. Space to meet every family’s need.

Prevention

Financial assistance for families in imminent danger of homelessness, plus connection to community partner resources.

Short-term Housing

Up to six months of safe housing with all household essentials, plus individualized development plans covering finances, education, wellness and more.

Stabilization

Ongoing in-home visits, monthly support groups, and connection to resources that optimize long-term self-sufficiency.

Every gift is stewarded with care. Family Promise of Lubbock is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit. All donations are tax-deductible.
